Rudrakshaa BEADS

Rudrakshaa is formed by association of two words, 'RUDRA' and 'AKSHA" . Rudra is the name of Lord Shiva. Aksha means 'tear'. It is said that the plant of Rudrakshaa is originated from the tear drops of Lord Shiva. As per the vedic scriptures Rudrakshaa can nullify the effects of malefic planets to a great extent. Shastras say Rudrakshaa of any mukhis can never do any harm to the wearer unlike Navratnas, which have to be carefully chosen. No other necklace or bead is so auspicious and powerful as Rudrakshaa.

Rudrakshaa come in different mukhis or the clefts or furrows on the surface. Shastras speak of 1 to 38 mukhis but normally 1 to 14 mukhis are used for astrological benefits. Each bead has a different effect on you, depending on the number of mukhis it has. Each Rudrakshaa is very individualistic and has to be carefully matched with one's horoscope for it to be beneficial.

Tantra Yantra Mantra has a very important place for Rudrakshaa. Vedas have given special weightage to Rudrakshaa, as it is believed that Rudraksha has originated from the tears of lord Shiva. Rudraksha have tremendous energy and power. Rudraksha is best known for its biomedical properties and in controlling stress, hypertension and blood pressure. Rudraksha is available mainly in Nepal and Malaysia.

The chain of 108 beads or 50 beads if worn and worshipped , provides all types of benefits. Therefore , it is important that Rudraksha should always be respected and kept pure. One should not touch it with dirty hands and must be removed before entering the toilets. It is a blessing to mankind.

Rudraksha is available in three categories:

1 The biggest of Rudraksha beads is 2-4 inches and is round. It is available in some parts of Indonesia, Java - Sumatra and China. The Rudraksha with lines and biggest is considered to be very auspicious.

2 Rudraksha of middle category range from 1.75 inches, these are available in the market. These Rudraksha beads come in 32 Mukhas.

3 They are the smallest and their size is less than 1.50 inches. In this category the Rudraksha are available in the size of black papper. These are the costlist of all.

How to Identify the real Rudraksha:

1 If you place a real Rudraksha bead in a full glass of water, it would drown in water.

2 Boil the Rudraksha in water for continous 6 hours, if it is real Rudraksha there would not be any effect on the Rudraksha bead, else if it is artificial or two Rudrakshas are joined together artificially(in case of Gauri shanker bead), they will get seprated.

3 Rudraksha should not be confused with the shape and size. One should carefully examine that Rudraksha bead have well defined, corns and contours are natural, there are no cracks near the central hole and the bead has a good health . Smaller size is also considered to be very auspicious.

4. Rudraksha Bead shall not be broken from any end.

Rudraksha is of special importance in religious ceremonies and prayers of God - Goddesses. It is difficult to get one faced and 9 to 14 faced Rudraksha. One faced Rudraksha is very rare and is very powerful. The five faced Rudraksha Chain (mala) is therefore considered ideal for pooja purposes. A chain of 26 beads of Rudraksha is placed on head, a chain of 50 beads is placed over the heart, while a 16 beaded chain is kept on the forehead.
